The Flyers spent the first period building a three-goal problem and the next two periods nearly solving all of it. Columbus led 3–0 after twenty minutes while Philadelphia managed only two shots. From there, the Flyers tilted the game: Noah Cates scored in the second, Trevor Zegras cut the margin to one late in the third and Jamie Drysdale tied it with 10.4 seconds left.

That push earned a point, but overtime exposed the part that cannot be celebrated away. Philadelphia allowed two separate 2-on-0 rushes in the extra period. Dan Vladar stopped the first; Kent Johnson finished the second for a 4–3 Columbus win.

The contrast is the story. The Flyers held a 29–6 shot advantage after the first period and showed enough persistence to rescue a game that looked gone. They also produced the kind of unprotected overtime mistakes that turn a comeback from two points into one. The response was real. So was the final breakdown.
