The Eagles have reached the point where preseason projection gives way to evidence. Their official opening-week review identifies six major offseason storylines, beginning with an offense that showed very little of its real plan during public practices and exhibition games.
Sean Mannion's first regular-season work as offensive coordinator will receive the most attention, but the questions stretch across the roster. Philadelphia enters the year defending consecutive NFC East titles with established stars, a deep secondary and another group of young players expected to become useful before the schedule gets comfortable.
Sunday's home opener against Washington will not settle every debate. It will show which summer ideas survived contact with a divisional opponent—and which parts of the roster still need time.
