The Phillies are not playing this week, but the offseason calendar is already active. Award announcements, roster deadlines and free-agent decisions begin shaping what the 2027 club can become.

That makes November more than rumor season. Every protected roster spot and every deadline narrows the choices available before spring training. The Phillies have a strong rotation base to protect while they sort through the lineup and roster questions around it.

There is no need to invent a transaction before it happens. The real story is the clock: the winter work has started, and the first official decisions will arrive long before pitchers and catchers report.
