The Union can secure a place in the 2026 MLS Cup Playoffs with a win at Nashville on Wednesday night. Philadelphia also has several score combinations that can clinch the berth without a victory, but taking three points removes the need to watch another scoreboard.
The opportunity arrives with the attack stretched thin. Bruno Damiani is suspended, Milan Iloski is out with a hamstring strain and Cavan Sullivan remains questionable with an ankle injury. Together, those three have scored 38 of the Union's 62 regular-season goals.
Philadelphia's larger run still matters: the club has taken 39 of 48 possible points under interim coach Ryan Richter. Wednesday asks whether that structure can survive without the names that normally finish its best chances.
