Mixteca opened its Philadelphia location on August 28 at 2113 E. York St., bringing a New York-born agave bar into the former Martha space in East Kensington.

The concept comes from bartenders Jeff Bell and Euclides ‘Victor’ Lopez. Its focus is tequila, mezcal and other agave spirits, with ten margarita variations and reinterpretations of familiar cocktails.

Philadelphia’s location is not simply a copy of the original. Local reporting describes a larger room and a broader food menu, including tacos, tostadas and shareable plates, while the drink list includes nods to the city through versions of Fish House Punch and the Clover Club.

The address carries neighborhood expectations because Martha operated there for a decade before closing in 2024. A new tenant does not replace that history, but it does keep the corner active as a food-and-drink destination.

Mixteca’s official site says reservations are available but not required. As with any opening-week operation, diners should confirm current hours and menu details directly before heading over.
