Joe Milton gets the Giants start and a real chance to answer the question

Joe Milton will make his first NFL start Sunday against the New York Giants. Philadelphia signed him from Dallas' practice squad three weeks ago, so the assignment arrives before he has had a full season to settle into the offense.

The useful question is not whether one start can define him. It is whether his arm strength, movement and preparation can keep the offense functional in a division game. The Eagles need clean decisions more than a highlight reel.

Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. Sunday. Milton called it a great opportunity, and that is exactly what it is: a live evaluation with real consequences instead of another week of projection.
