The Flyers get no recovery night after erasing a three-goal deficit against Columbus. They are in Washington at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday for the second half of a back-to-back, facing a Capitals team that enters 6–4 and has played only one game in the past seven days.

That rest gap is the shape of the game. Philadelphia has played seven times in 15 nights; Washington is playing its fifth over the same span. The Flyers generated a 29–6 shot advantage after the first period Tuesday, but the energy required to chase that game becomes part of tonight's test. Joseph Woll is expected to be the fresh goaltending option after Dan Vladar handled Tuesday.

Washington has won five of seven at Capital One Arena and is coming off a 4–3 overtime win over Buffalo. This is the first of four regular-season meetings between the division opponents. Watch on TNT, truTV, HBO Max or NBC Sports Philadelphia Plus; puck drop is 7:30 p.m. from Capital One Arena.
