The Flyers opened a five-game road trip with a 3-2 loss at Madison Square Garden. Simon Benoit and Noel Acciari turned a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 Philadelphia lead during the second period.
That lead survived well into the third, but the Rangers completed their first comeback win of the season. Philadelphia remains without a win against a Metropolitan Division opponent.
The frustrating part is not that the Flyers were chased out of the building. They created a winnable road game and reached the closing stretch in front. Finishing that kind of night is the next problem they have to solve.
